1980 CJ7 258 original owner stock suspension no lift 31x10.5/15 tires 80% road, 20% offroad I am looking for some shocks to replace the gas version (over 20yrs old) currently installed. I think I would like a shock similar to the Monroe Sensa-trac, but they are not made for Jeeps. 1) What are the pros and cons on gas shocks vs. hydro shocks for Jeeps ? 2) What shocks would be recommended for my 80CJ7? Thanks

You didnt talk about price, but a crowd favorite without getting into expensive reservoirs is the Rancho gas shock (rsx?) or the Rancho 9000, which can be set to different hardnesses from a knob on the shock (or a remote dash kit for $100+)
