95 Laredo 4x4 Wont Start?

Drives: 1995 jeep grand cherokee 4.0
Location: arizona
we have a 95 grand cherokee 4x4 4.0l it has been having a problem with the 4 wheel lever switch and have to use a wire to keep the lever pulled forward so the car will start now even though its all the way in off posistion the car will not turn over at all just gets a click in the glove box area ... any ideas

well i never got a response but found its my starter i just banged on it and it started right up so guess solinoid?
