Does anyone know if the ring and pinion can be interchanged between the Dana 27 (from a '60s CJ5) and the Dana 30 (from a '77 CJ7)? I've a Dana 27 with 5.38 gears and can have a very very cheap ARB with its compressor for a Dana 30, problem is it has 3.54 gears.

Meaning I can't use a D30 locker in a D27 diff.

Well, it's basically an financial issue... I can have a very cheap D30 with an ARB locker, but 3.54gears, and I have a D27 without locker and 5.38gears
