Can anyone help or give me some advice on the drivers seat of the Jeep Patriot.

I am a uk resident and have recently purchased a patriot (2.0 CRD limited in right hand drive form). After some weeks of driving this vehicle I have developed hip pain and numbness to my left leg. No matter how I position the seat, I get little support on my left side which is causing the problem. ( It feels as if I am forced to the left side of the seat )

Jeep have had the vehicle back and have repadded the seat cushion, this has had little effect. The vehicle has only just done 8000 miles and is still like new.

Has anybody experienced this problem before ? Is there a mod or cure, I am thinking of selling on as it has become too uncomfortable even on short journeys.

I'm sorry to hear this. But this issue was one we set out to avoid in our lift time.. I recall once having a VW jetta Diesel which got nearly 60 mpg for its time.. Anyway the main draw back from this was the fact that the seats were not very comfortable for a tall person like myself.

This was one reason why we decided not to buy the Liberty CRD.. The seats are not very forgiving.. and after hearing about the MPG on the CRD's I had my doubts it would get what they predicted it would.. By chance we bought the 07 Commander.. which had the 8 way adjustable seats..

In your case.. You'll prob have to deal with the seats as is until you can afford to buy some after market seat that will fit into the Jeep.. or at least that's what Our plan would have been if we decided with the liberty or compass. Also the dealer (not sure) could make the necessary alterations and install new power seats.. But I feel that wasn't an option on your vehicle.

I guess if you have the option to return the jeep.. I would do so.. or risk more damage and have to attend a chiropractor often.
