I've been emailing companies like Bushwacker, Warn, Bestop and Rugged Ridge (The only four manufactures who make flares) in an attempt to spur them to create some fender flares to Our "late" jeep commander. While at a few other forums, I noticed in increase in demand for these fender flares But no one is willing to commit to making any.

Due tot he fact that the jeep commander is not going to be continued to be sold or produced here in the states, hopefully someone over seas (Fiat) will think twice about creating some Flares for us American Commander owners. I've just contacted Jim Penson (Our JeepLife's Cousin) in Tennessee, Who is an engineer and designer for a Plastics and Mold company and just draw up a small group of fender flares for the Jeep Commander. Within 30 mins here had a 3D rendering of three options of Flares. (3/4'', 2 1/2'', 4 1/3") extensions..

Trouble is (as he informs me) The design and computer 3D molding was free cause he did it himself.. But as for the Molds creation, This would average $50,000 and would needed to be upfront. Once the mold is or has been created they can find a company to "Shoot it" as he calls it.. and each fender flare set (Four Flares) would run for just a few hundred dollars.

This was not the first time I had spoken with Jim about crating something for one jeep or another.. But seems all projects are now put on hold until we can find local investors. Where is the lotto when you need it.. If Your a Jeep Commander owner and would be interested in obtaining a set of these (yet to be) fender flares.. I would advice you get on the mailing list posted at our Jeep site:
