Hi I was returning home, on the Interstate, and about 100 miles from home, the temp gauge began climing and went into thge red.I stopped and checked ,but no leaks, antifreeze full.I turned on the heater, which lowered the gauge a bit,and drove the rest of the way home. The gauge went up and down, but Jeep never overheated. All I can think is the thermostsat is bad,or the gauge is going out.Water pump is a few months old. Any ideas? Thanks Bob ib Wyoming

Hi Bob, The same thing happened to my 03 Lorado, it turned out to a fan relay. What a pain in the butt, my mechanic had to removed the front bumper to access it! Andy 96 XJ 03 Lorado

Mine did that a couple of weeks ago and it turned out to be the thermostat. $6 for a new Slant thermostat but the bottom bolt the housing is a pain to get started.
