Rattling Noise, Rattling

Drives: 2006 Jeep Wrangler
Location: Charleston, SC
I got stuck muddin this weekend. I had to be yanked a few times. Afterwards my jeep is making a rattling noise from my 4 wheel drive shifter. It only rattles when moving and gets louder when I accelarate. Anybody have any ideas. I was thinking about removing my center console to see if something fell in there or is loose. Is this complicated and something I should pay a mechanic to do?
