Hi, I'm about to replace the rear leaf springs on my 1994 cherokee and am trying to find the torque settings for when I bolt it all back together again. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

The U-bolt nut is 52 ft.lbs./70Nm, the front pivot and upper shackle bolts are both 115 ft.lbs./156Nm, and the lower shackle bolt is 80 ft.lbs./108Nm Hope that is of some help, if you need the specs for the shock and anti- roll bar, let us know and I'll post them up :)

Since my rig is offroad only I run my shackle bolts quite a bit looser than that.  I expect my suspension to travel alot farther than a highway rig though.

If you live somewhere that uses salt put asside an intire weekend for replacing the rear suspension. Alot of times you have to pop out the upper shock mount bolts and replace them.  As well the spring bolts seize in the bushings and have to be cut out with a sawsall.

The back side of the upper shackle bolt can be accessed if you pull the rear bumper off.  The front eye bolt nut is hidden inside the body and you have to cut a hole under the rear seat to get to it.  Start soaking those bolts down with PB blaster once a day for a week before you dive into the job.

Hopefully you don't have to go through all that.. but just warning you.

Andy
